Save Slots?
I'm just kind of curious - is there any way to keep multiple saves on this game?
I mean it's a lot of fun, but especially with the inability to change difficulty after the third floor without restarting the entire game, I can definitely see this game benefiting from being able to keep multiple saves. Or is the feature just there and I haven't seen it yet because I don't want to hit "New Game" on a game with autosaves and only one file? |

Not at the moment. We're thinking of pushing back the difficulty lock to the fourth floor at the moment, though...

My concern isn't just for difficulty, unfortunately. Cutscenes which are literally only watchable once due to autosaving (and yet are hilarious and worth watching again), and even achievements like 100% a song from a scroll (I've started on Spasmodic, I'm not getting 100% unless I'm on a lower difficulty - but that means starting my file all over), not to mention if you have family members that play the game or something.
And there's the whole "I like having a 100% complete file but want to play anew without losing everything" part too. So yeah. Really hoping you give us something we can do about this. |

Yeah, agreed. I did a full playthrough but missed one achievement, which I thought I did, but I guess it did not register, or was lost somehow.
It's the <25% synth achievement. I can't do it without restarting since I have nothing left to synth ![]() I'd also like to have separate slots for each difficulty. |

Not saying I won't implement this in the near future, but as a totally hacky fix:
You can find your savefile at steam/userdata/somenumber/200910/remote/steamsave.sav. Back it up, start a new game, grab Quarter Quell, replace savefile.

Would that work since this game has cloud saving? I'd think once you stick the old save file back in, it'd check the cloud save, see that it has a newer timestamp, and replace the good save. Not 100% sure how it works, though (does it prompt you to replace?) -- I've never had to use it. Might want to turn off cloud saving (or at least keep a copy backed up) if you're doing this, just in case.

To my knowledge, if there is a conflict between files with Steam Cloud, it prompts you which version you'd like to keep.
I've been manually repairing savefiles for a few people and they seem to be working fine, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yeah. It would be great to have separate save slots, or at least saves per difficulty like in Fortix 2. Change to easy, and you get the easy gameplay and story progression.
That way changing to easy to advance in a tight spot and then going back to another difficulty is impossible, since switching to easy would send you to the easy progression. Being able to replay cutscenes and scroll would be neat too. I almost got 100% several times, but then the 'complete' message appeared before I the last steps, and they went just trough, decreasing the %.
