List of Complete Pack bugs

So, it appears that in typical Steam fashion, we've been dealt an apparently good deal which just plain refuses to work. In an effort to reduce clutter, I invite everyone to use this thread to list their issues. I will try to keep the issues multiple people have on this post, in addition to my own.
I will list suggested fixes with a history of working next to any issues up here.

So far, I have seen...
GTA
-Doesn't run on some modern comptuers (presumably 64-bit). Try http://kix.r3versed.com/site/steamplus
-Launches to black screen w/ audio

GTA 2
-Refuses to save settings
-Crashes randomly
-Launches to black screen w/ audio

GTA 3/ VC
-Cars are miscoloured. Try http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...ht=yellow+cars

-Opens its process, but not the game/ Crashes on startup. Like 3, this may be solved by changing compatability mode to Windows 98 or deleting the following files in the documents folder for the corresponding games:

GTA3: GTA3 user files\gta3.set
GTA VC: GTA Vice City user files\gta_vc.set
GTA SA: GTA San Andreas user files\gta_sa.set

For all of the above: turn frame limiter ON in settings (solves several issues - e.g. driving reverse in 3 or speed of the water plane in VC).

As a last resort, delete the file clientregistry.blob in the steam folder and restart steam.

-Launching GTA 3 or GTA VC results in an unhandled exception error.
In Classic (Proper) View:

Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced Tab > Settings button under Performance Heading > Data Execution Prevention Tab.

Then switch Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.

Then you click on add and select the gta3.exe and gtavc.exe. And click on Apply at the bottom then OK.

This may work for other similar problems too but it has only been tested for the above problem.

-Freezes (black screen with parts of background desktop or windows) when launched. No sound whatsoever.

-#3 and Vice City may both say "Cannot find 640x480 video mode," and refuse to start

GTA: SA
-Crashes randomly. Recent patch has mostly solved this, but loading attempts may crash.
-Opening logo doesn't show, but audio plays (this appears to be associated with the crashes).
-Doesn't save game or settings (multiple people suffer this problem).
-Possible collision detection problems.

GTA IV
-Crashes randomly.
-Low FPS (poorly ported).
-When trying to run on Windows 7 (64-bit), says that it requires Vista service pack 1 or higher to continue after logging into Social Club. Changing compatability mode seems to work.

What has everyone else been getting?

And yet everyone's making a new thread for every individual problem.
Come on, this same system slowed down the stupidity of a TF2 forum, people!

For your VC problem, I know that GTA3 has an issue with not launching and there is a file called GTA3.set in your documents folder that needs to be deleted. I would check and see if there is any similar file for VC. Just a suggestion.

If you download the free versions of those games from Rockstar's website, it says that those games have been enhanced/edited or whatever you want to call it to allow them to run on modern hardware, but people still have issues with them. I have a link for a program that allows you to run these games through it so that it will work, although I am not home at the moment, I will post that in a little while.

Hopefully that will help you out some.

Edit: Here is that link http://kix.r3versed.com/site/steamplus

When I try to load the game it brings up a black screen and very quickly says that gta3.exe or gta-vc.exe has stopped working. Any help is very much appreciated! San Andreas:

Opening logo spray noise but just a black screen. Game works perfectly (near perfect) after that.

Robbery mission: Die if you go too close to the crates and attempt to pick them up, your character flips left, right and everywhere else before picking it up and gets injured or instantly dies.

Car tail sometimes moves left and right when the engines running, noticeable if you look for it.

GTA IV: Low FPS sometimes... But that's understandable, I think.

GTA 1 and III worked flawlessly. One thing that anoyes me is the constant zoom in and out in GTA 1 when i accelerate and desacelerate. I have an i5 and an HD 4870 and Windows 7 Pro 32-bits. I just had problems with the textures with GTA IV though.
