Friend's Steam not connecting

So my friend was on Steam chatting with me, then I asked if she'd like me to make her TF2 premium via mann co store so she gave me her password and username. When I tried logging in it gave me "Can not connect to Steam Servers". So I told her and she couldnt reconnect via her computer.

Update: She just told me she made a new account and it worked fine, I was also able to reconnect to my account no problem.

Soooo, wtf?
