[MOD] Tropico 4: Removing the population limit

I contacted Kalypso to see if they were okay with an unsupported removal of population limits and road limits, and since they are, I've released something I've sat on for a long time.

To save myself from having to update both threads, please visit the original thread to get the latest downloads.

Use of this mod is entirely unsupported by Kalypso and Haemimont, but they're fine with it existing.

On a personal note: expect your game to crash past 16,000 people.

A lot of people weren't, and I got tired of people complaining it was a bug. If they really want to crash their game, they're welcome to do so now :P

I've most recently pushed 28,000 people as a test, but the game was incredibly unstable and deleted the save on crash (it only does this when things are SERIOUSLY unstable).

how..on...earth can you get 28 000 people ? Do tell. My game is crawling with only 1500 people on the island....and I am already dead bored when reaching that much.....

Much the same way I created Tyrant Island. The limit to the size of the maps is imposed by the generator ... since I've taken control of 95%+ of the game's engine, I've got a bigger map. Though it's less stable than a drunk on stilts in a sandstorm, but hell, it's fun

Anyway, it's all to do with configuration options and tweaking the system. My Q9550/8GB@800MHz/GTX280 can push 28k, so I'm assuming better rigs could do better.

Hmm The roads would jam up pretty fast, unless you have some type of ring road!

I find they jam up even at 800 people!

Though a 28k people island sounds amazing. 400 rebals attacking you would be fun lol!
