How does the game play with just keyboard/mouse?

Hi Forum,

How does the game play with just the keyboard/mouse? Is a helicopter flyable with keyboard/mouse? Or do people have custom controls -- flight sticks, thrustmasters, etc.

Thank you!

It's possible but it's not really very precise or much fun. I'd highly recommend a $10 gamepad of some kind, it makes it sooo much better than KB&M.

In the old days we used to have just keyboard as an option and our imaginations would fill in the gaps, it's still doable but really you will get the bare minimum of the experience the game has to offer.

With KB&M you would have to probably use auto-hover quite a lot and that somewhat diminishes the joy of getting better at controlling your craft.

Exclamation

If you don't use a keyboard and mouse to fly, DONT ANSWER!

The game is easily controlled with keyboard mouse!

I use keyboard/mouse, No Autotrim, No Autohover.

It took me a couple weeks to get to that point.
(Community preview->pre-order Beta->full release.)

No doubt the game has a steep learning curve, but there are plenty of difficulty settings there to make things easier for you.

I've just got this today and have been playing with K&B and have found it easy and accurate.

I should clarify since I didn't state it clearly in my first post, but yes I did play it on KB for about 3 hours, yes it works, yes you can do it, but imho a very small additional investment in a cheap and cheerful gamepad or peripheral of some kind will enhance your experience tremendously.

At any rate, happy flying to you pilots no matter how you choose to input.

Nice landing! Still can't manage it without using auto hover!
