Encounters happen too often
I wished the frequency of random battles could be reduced. In the first half of dungeons I'm nearly constantly fighting to the point that it becomes tiresome and in the second half I'm running through empty corridors because the random counter is already depleted.

I have the same feeling. Dungeons were not so bad compared to Dunwitch
... every 3-5 seconds a fight, to the point of raging, especially when you are looking for bloody Nyarlathotep. Developers could make a fix

That seems to be exactly the opposite of my experience. I remember sometimes going 30-45 seconds after a battle before hitting another one. Maybe the difficulty setting has something to do with it? I played on Normal.

Commentary states that the random encounter rate was raised particularly for the zombified village. The reason is because the random encounter rate would reset upon entering buildings, and you entered a LOT of buildings in that particular village...so everything balanced itself out.

I'm playing on normal as well. In every dungeon I get an encounter about every 5 seconds.

Well if you deal with more encounters much more early you can quickly burn through them and get no more encounters in that area, noted by the "Encounters/Battles Left" in the top right area in the menu. I managed to kill the mobs so fast that there was hardly any encounters by the time I got October in Dunwitch.

Game is alright but this nearly made me stop playing right now... it jarateed me off before, but the Volcano dungeon was just exaggerated, I wanted the damn fights TO STOP... It's not fun if you're looking around to get the chests/items and every few damn seconds something pops up.
Random Encounters aren't really a design decision I personally like to start with, I'd rather have it the Heroes of Might & Magic way where they are visible on the damn map, that way you can also test the encounters properly and won't get anyone exasperating at the start of the dungeon cause they just WON'T STOP... |

Well that´s true, but each area has a limited number of battles and after that you can only battle if you choose to do so in the menu,so it´s not really a problem
It´s actually a great mechanic in my opinion.

I agree, I thought it was a good idea for this kind of game. It's kind of weird that others are getting more encounters than I did on my playthrough. Most of the time, I went almost a full minute between encounters and sometimes MUCH longer on Normal; sometimes, I WANTED more encounters, LOL.

Just grind next to a save spot to eliminate all the random battles?
