Nexus Widescreen Patch + FOV Fix, Windowed Mode & Triplehead
Hello everyone, I bought Nexus The Jupiter Incident a few days ago and I'm enjoying the game a lot so far.
It kinda bugged me that the game didn't have widescreen support so I decided to create a "widescreen patch" for the game. http://i.minus.com/iCrUqBde8pp26.jpg Features: * Allows you to use any resolution you want * FOV Fix * Fullscreen / Windowed mode * Triplehead fix (multi-monitor gaming) Here's the file Please let me know if you find any bugs ![]() Current version: 1.3 (Updated 21. Nov 2011) Last edited by r3spawn: 11-21-2011 at 07:31 AM. |

Sadly the patch dose NOT seem to be working for me. I Downloaded the game yesterday and tried to apply the patch and got the error "Game not found".
Install Dir: "C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\nexus the jupiter incident" OS: Windows 7 x64 Tried many compatibility modes on "NexussWidescreenPatch.exe" did not help. I also tried running the patch after turning off UAC and rebooting. The game is a clean install. I think its great that this patch was made and I really would love to be able to get it working. Thanks for making this patch. |

It says "Failed to find Steam" when I run it from the install directory (all nexus exes) and nothing has changed then I launch it via steam. It keeps launching the game with the lowest possible resolution even if I change it to 1600x1200 in the options. Thats kind of...meh.

Funny...or unfunny thing is - it resets the registry file everytime I launch the game. It's always launching in 1024x768 TT_TT. I can't even raise the resolution to 1280x1024. Oh, I may need to add - I'm running Win7 x64 pro. When I'm using the widescreen patch and patch it to windowed mode, I get the right width, but not the right height. http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/2722/screenmm.jpg Last edited by Namz89: 11-25-2011 at 05:08 AM. Grumble grumble... Reg edits aren't sticking. The values keep resetting as posted above. Anyone know why this is? Solution?
I would love to run my native res of 1440 x 900 I'll keep tinkering and researching to find a solution. EDIT: tried again with the widescreen patch from OP, it still insists "game not found" and failed until I created the following folders in the steam install path: G:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\nexus the jupiter incident\Universe\Engine\rendering.ini I created a blank notepad and named it rendering.ini then the patch said "patch applied". Still though its doing "game not found" but fills the ini with display text values, however the res hasn't changed....still 1024 x 768. The game refuses to change resolution in any way shape or form. Something is defaulting it on steam launch. Last edited by Punctual: 11-25-2011 at 02:14 PM. |

Okay not editing my above post anymore...
Regedit does indeed save setting for height and width if you run regedit as an administrator. I am on Vista 32 home premium, UAC on. See here for instructions: http://arparso.de/nexus/forum/index.php/topic,39.0.html |

Also be sure your putting the right values for height and width into the Decimal base for each registry tag. Other than that not sure why its being such a pain. The last ♥♥♥♥le for me right now is the fov is still 70 when I want 90. This is a minor issue though as it only cuts off the bottom/sides of some of the text windows in the mission briefings. Not a big deal because these boxes contain the same info as is given to you by audio commentary anyway. I'm still futzing with this part. |
