Portal 2 and Steam on PlayStation 3

You have to link the code to a PS3 account to use it.

How do you have Portal 2 from a DVD and a PS3 version code?

Thats what I got in the shop

Thats what I got in the shop. I should repeat that nothing on the dvd case or the dvd itself says anything about PS3.

Then you'll need to return it. It's only valid with the purchase of the PS3 version of the game as bundle and requires linking with a PS3 account.

another solution (if you cant return it)is to play portal 2 at a friends house on his/her ps3. create a new psn profile, run portal 2 ps3,link PSN to steam, activate code on steam PC as the psn link requirement will have been completed by linking the accounts then the code will be valid.

This is better then getting stuck with a cd-key thats useless and having to eat the cost of getting another.

steam support solution?

the guy at the EB Games shop in Melbourne Australia said that Steam Support has a solution. What is it?

I have been sold something that was not what it was advertised to be.

Visiting the PlayStation Network site is useless.

If you don't have a ps3, return the PS3 game that you bought? Because, you know, you can't USE it in anything BUT a ps3? Are you sure that the product you got in the box both says it's a DVD and that it's for the computer?

Is it possible that the person at the shop is absolutely clueless about what they sold? That someone stuck a used dvd/pc version into the wrong box, or something? Sounds fishy.

Hi, I was just wondering if you found a solution this problem? I bought a PC copy of the game from EB yesterday and I'm having the exact same problem It's gotten me quite frustrated.

The PS3 disc version has "PS3" at the bottom of the disc. It also says Blu-Ray Disc.

I can't talk for the PC version, as I got it from Steam thanks to my PS3 version, but you need a DVD player.

This is extremely important. I had bought a copy of the Fallout 3 GOTY edition and it wouldn't play and wouldn't play and... it was going into a cd-rom player. It was a dvd.

Make sure your equipment matches the requirements. I had to dig out my other drive and thankfully it WAS a dvd.

This people only are victims of fraud, when I bought my PS3 copy, immediately a friend ask me for the digital copy, but without a PSN account the code is useless and I don't think making one to redeem it helps. (i don't try that, don't bother me).

But it seems the copies they bought are originally packed with a PS3 game.

Kaejay, I contacted EB games who told me to email EA Games. EA games sent me a new key that worked.

Beware, you will have to download many Gigs before you can start playing.

Oh great. I'm quite frustrated by all of this, honestly. It's a PC GAME and there is nothing on the packaging that indicates any of this
