sins of a solar empire minidump
Hi guys,
I need some help on this; I have verified the cache twice and to no avail. I did google as well, but no good answers came up. Thank you. |

This is the error I am getting,
C:users/isual/appdata/local/temp/sins dump/sins-diplomacy v1.34-2011-11-16-16-54-55-1944-5496.dmp There currently is no Sins of a solar empire dedicated forum on here yet, so I thought I would post the problem here. Thank you. |

Oops, sorry, I somehow read right over that point in your first post.
What video adapter are you running? In fact, your entire system specs might be useful. __________________ Nothing to see here |

You can try to post this in the official Sins forums (forums.sinsofasolarempire.com).

I don't know. I still cannot play the game. I've uninstalled, checked cache validity, nothing. Game keeps getting this beep, and then I have to alt tab and I get the minidump error.
oh, and to mention my computer specs I7 2630 GT540m windows 7 I am already frustrated, vexxed, and #@$#$#$ (word show be the past tense of peeing, somehow the forums make it jarateed) that I have spent over an hour or so trying to find a solution to this. I have uninstalled twice, used cc cleaner, reinstalled, and then nothing. 15 dollars spent on a #$#$#$#$ paperweight. Frustration. Solar forums are of no help either. Have you updated your video and sound drivers?
Have you disabled an AV programs? Also you should really create a new topic on the Sins forum instead of hijacking an existing one with absolutely no information except you complaining about it. People there will help you but not if you use someone else's thread. Also you can send the minidump to ironclad directly to see if they have any insight Quote:

I understand, thank you for the constructive help. It is just frustrating that one can lose their heads trying to fix something over several hours. I appreciate the help.

I'm having the same minidump message. Checked out CanYouRunIt.com, and I meet the games requirements, except that I have windows 7, and so it wasn't sure I passed the game's requirements after all.
Edit: Just tried something stupid, not imagining it would work. After re installing, and getting the dump error AGAIN, I went into the folder containing the Sins App, and just tried to run it straight from the folder, rather than the steam menu. It's working fine so far. Last edited by morningstarIV: 11-20-2011 at 06:31 AM. |

You should start a thread about this at the official Sins forums (which are active and have been around since at least 2008). There's a Technical forum for this sort of thing. You'll probably get more help there. Stardock employees actually read it. You could also send an email to the support email address (not sure exactly what it is, you'll find out at that forum).

Yeah, I did that as well. Activating the game from the directory itself works fine; playing through steam just does not work.

This problem seems to be unfortunately all too common for new Steam users, the developers really need to get their act together...
The game itself is extraordinary but the technical issues associated with it can be very off-putting. |

Stupid question; how do you launch from directory again?
