Is there any site that will allow you to compare Steam collections?

Kind of like when viewing achievements on XBL, or viewing trophies on the PS3 with a friend.

I like this. I can't tell you how many times me and some friends are hanging out on VoIP trying to decide which games we all have in common, then which we want to play.

What exactly do you mean? A site where you provide your steam name and it compares the games you have in common with your friends and compares the achievements of each game? Like in the community tab?

I think he means comparing games side by side. Xbox Live does something similar like this. You can also compare your achievements with another person.

Just put in a suggestion on the other forum. Hopefully the Steam UI devs take notice of the topic.


Actually, the Steam UI as a whole could use a LOT of improvements.

Ok now I understand. But I think this would be easy to make ourselves. I already implemented the steam api into a gamer site. It's not that difficult. In fact it took longer to implement the layout for the website than the steam api. The steam community api is free to use. From what I understand it would be easy to do game and achievements comparisons side by side with friends or other people. That wouldn't be the problem.
If I would get some more info from you guys I would try it this weekend.

Any site that uses information from Steam API will not be able to access any account information if the account privacy settings are not completely public.

Well, one of the sites would not let me use a friends info to compare, and mine worked. So I tried the second site linked, and his worked....but mine did not.

I think kind of debunks that theory. Not saying what you're saying is not true, but saying that is not the reason in this case.

Make sure you're using a real steam id or custom id and not their user nickname.

I'm currently in the process of re-writing Steam Compare. I've reduced the load time to almost nothing when adding users. I'm also tracking groups, most played games and hours for all games. If anyone has anything they'd like to see added, let me know.
