Unofficial Patch 7.9 beta released!

Go and get it here: http://www.patches-scrolls.de/vampire_bloodlines.php#79

While searching for stuff to include in a possible library level, I found
over fifty unused props and restored them! Because this changed many maps,
the current patch is released as a beta first, but I hope that no hotfix
will be needed and it will be as stable as the last patch versions .

v7.9 22.11.2011
----
+Restored Giovanni spirit, video victim and fifty five scenery props.
+Changed condition for forklift sequence and restored Protean icons.
+Added option to send Gimble to Vandal and a museum panel inspection.
+Restored final two music pieces, thanks to Malkav and Rik Schaffer.
Corrected Romero not mailing and Vandal not giving additional lines.
Fixed chandelier and camera rod textures and drinking glasses clip.
Removed newspaper from downtown in basic and fixed minor map issues.
Added Packfile Explorer 3.9 to Extras folder, thanks to Dave Gaunt.
Fixed Hitman quest problem and restored lines of Lu Fang and Carson.
Repaired dancer behaviour at Confession and added it for Glaze too.
Restored Blood Hunt music, ballroom shaft of light and Sin Bin sign.

I'm testing entrance options from the downtown hub at the moment and collect ideas and models for the inside of the library. After that I'll have to wait until burgermeister finishes his next Clan Quest Mod version, because he is the one with Source level building experience who will actually build the map itself.

Oh man, this sounds so good I banned myself from VtmB for a while, but I'll make sure to pick it up again when you finish that Library level. And sending Gimble to Vandal sounds... incredibly satisfying.

Hm, I never encoutered this bug, so it could be a random issues and these are hard to fix, if they are fixable at all ...

Hmmm, I would say for you to go "Basic" on a first time play. Then when you finish the game and want to play it again, I would go for the "Plus" patch version next.

Mmm... I've only ever played it patched. Sometimes I wonder just what dialog was added or fixed. Although I suppose a list like that would be rather long.

Also, the download keeps failing for me at 99.9%.

I'm a good part of the way through the 7.9+ version -- did all the Hollywood quests except I'm finishing up the warrens right now.

So far, no problems at all.

Seeing the restored props is very cool. I can see why some of them were dropped (e.g., names on a can, poster, etc.) but I'm glad we get to see them!

And how very satisfying it was to send Gimble to Vandal. True justice. (:

I wasn't able to send Gimble to Vandal, what are the conditions for that?

Also, I can't tell what props were added.

The Blood Hunt music just doesn't seem to fit for some reason, though.

Baldur Prime -- you need to have the basic game installed first. The patch is installed on top of the game itself. The 7.9 patch should include all previous fixes from previous patch versions.

I just played through the 7.9+ patch for the first time (played as Tremere) and noticed no unusual problems.

How nice to see the missing props! Some very unexpected.

Also, that Giovanni spirit was awesome! Too bad it can only be seen for a very short time. I always thought that empty room below the Giovanni mansion was odd -- now I see what it was supposed to be for! (: Perhaps there was another element to the story they just didn't have time to finish developing.

The restored music was cool also.

By the way, you can play this game a million times and still notice something new. Today, for example, I noticed the voices of Dr. Grout and Professor Johannson were done by the same voice actor! Never noticed before. Maybe I'm just not that bright. (:

Really? So which did surprise you the most?

That's because I couldn't get it animated properly and it does look unfinished at a longer time.

I don't know if the ghost was supposed to appear there and I placed the well there on my own account too. Both's names connect them with the Giovanni though, but the ghost has an attack animation so it may have been more...
