Battlefield 3 Classes Help
I need help on how to play the Engineer and Recon. The Recon is sort of useless and I don't understand how some people are so good at it.
Also, the Engineer's weapons aren't that good. Ever since the patch, the weapon damages have been messed up and I don't know which weapon is good anymore. I have not used the Scar-H pre-patch though. Can you help me with setting up these two classes? |

With Recon you should be good at sniping people unless you just like to run around with an SMG or a shotgun.
And for Engineer the Scar is good for close range(it has lots of recoil and low mag). From experience the G36c is great. |

Don't use the single shot rifles for recon. Use only the semi auto rifles, preferably the one with the most ammo. Bolt rifles are pretty useless in this game unless you get headshots 24/7 or are close enough to pull your secondary out to finish the job.
Still, you lose time switching back and forth between your primary and secondary so, in my opinion, the real payoff for recon comes with those semi auto rifles. Can't really say much about the Engi. I'll leave that one for others to explain. |

Uh, you want to know what gun to use as the Engineer? G36 was good before the patch, I haven't tried it with the changes.
The VSS Val or whatever it is called is also, now, very beastly. It feels alot tighter and drops enemies very quick. If you are going to engineer, I suggest driving the armor around, or being a dedicated repair/gunner guy to rank up some. I am guessing you are probably still very low ranked. |

For the fast reload sniper rifles, take the scope off. Then use it like a single shot rifle at long range, you'll outgun the assault class. Just make sure to have extended ammo.
