I saw something tragic relating to heavy metal

Ok there I was surfing the web as usual, listening to Pantera/iron maiden/ metallica etc etc. And wondered what it is like on wiki's. Once i searched it on a cool site *tvtropes cough cough* I saw one no no two genres that kicked me in the nuts then attempted to break my neck. Nu metal (Korn being the only band from that i like). And something that dreadfully swiped my face with sharpened talons tipped with poison. Rap metal. Rap is 'ok' but metal is perfect imo. I... I just don't think they mix at all. Whats your view on this?

Few Nu Metal songs are ok but Rap metal just sucks now. As a kid it was the best thing on earth (Limp Bizkit, the toughest band on the planet at that time) since i didn't know anything better. But now it just sounds ridicilous. And Metallica/Ja-Rule combo song that was also was one awful song. Deathcore also sucks and almost everybody in those bands look like they could be in My Chemical Romance or some other hairacrossyourface-band. Metalcore on the other hand, some of those bands are good but also in that genre most of it sucks.

Basically nu-metal doesn't bother me as long as i don't have to listen to it more than 1 or 2 songs in a row. And rap and metal should be kept away from each other.

My god mixing metallica into rap. Even though they kinda gone downhill recently, there still my favorite band. Mixing that into rap just makes my mind go blank. Sigh, only thing I liked from that was probably beasty(beastie?) boys. Havn't heard from them for awhile though.

I wasn't, I was just implying the rap metal isn't really all that original anymore.

I personally love nu-metal when it mixes well, other times it just doesn't work out. But I love all kinds of metal, my favorites being thrash, and symphonic death metal: stuff like Abigail Williams, Graveworm, maybe some Cryptopsy.
But then again I'm a big fan of rap and hip-hop, i.e. Minamina Goodsong, Nujabes, Wu-Tang, Tech, etc.

So I don't see why people hate em when they mix up, just a long as it's not complete crap, I got no problems with it.

I can agree with hating dubstep, its just 50Hz frequencies with other noise.

Also, I hate when stuff gets to specific. Leave it as Metal or Rock.

Bands don't categorize themselves that way, just fans or the press. Also if someone says "I like metal, what other bands might I like?" you would have 500,000 recommendations if there weren't specific genres.
