1. Make sure Cryptographic services are on; startbutton->type services.msc turn automatic & start. try install then
2. second check is running under admin; go to the GFW marketplace program in gfwl folder, right click and go to properties, go to the compatibility tab and check the run as admin box, then hit apply. Restart the GFW marketplace program and try installing again. other sources 1 , 2 |

I get the same error: error Code: 80096010 . . . Install of item failed. If retry fails, delete the item and re-download. . . . The digital signature of the object did not verify. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80096010)
I retried, redownloaded . . . tried the stuff in the second post. still getting the error. any ideas? thanks. |

I've got exactly the same problem. All other dlc works ok, so the problem must be with games for windows market place. I checked the dl directory and I noticed that there is five files in the download folder and the first one is corrupt. I downloaded the file again, 5 times now and every time the first file is always corrupt, probably the reason why the installation fails. I paid for this dlc, so I expect it to work.
I've yet to find a solution or fix and Microsoft are about as much help as a fart in a space suit when you're running out of oxygen. MS should fix this pronto, but I'm not holding my breathe. Last edited by kindred: 02-24-2012 at 03:11 AM. |

I can't install Minervas Den either. I've tried EVERYTHING. Uninstall Bioshock 2, reinstall Bioshock, redownload DLC, reinstall DLC, Uninstall GFWL, Reinstall GFWL, Run Fixit Tool, Download from inside game, Download/Install from Client, ect. ect. Nothing works.
I'm at an impass here. I don't know what else to do. Is my $5 just lost? I can't for the life of me get the stupid Add-on to install. It fails every single time. Can ANYONE please give some suggestions? I'm desperate. "Install of item failed. If retry fails, delete the item and re-download. Code: 80096010 The digital signature of the object did not verify. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80096010)" |

Not sure what the issue could be at your end but I purchased MD around two hours ago(great deal at $5)and had no problems downloading it, installing it and playing it.
I have had no issues with GFWL since November of 2010 when I replaced the GFWL version Steam provides in it's installer of GFWL games with the real deal straight from MS. |

Well I got in touch with MS and they said they would get back to me within 3 days. I've got a dual boot system and after it didn't work under Windows 7, I tried Windows XP and I get exactly the same error. All other Bioshock 2 DLC downloads and installs fine, including DLC for other games like Section 8, so I'm at loss as to what's causing the minerva's den installation failure.

Come across this while reading another totally unrelated thread and though it might help. You aren't running F-secure are you?

I'd like to simply add that even Hotmail "is known to cause issues with the GfWL client". And forget about even attempting a simple method of saving games to local media.
I'm still waiting for any positive comments about GfWL. |

Well, so much for Microsoft getting back to me. It's been a week now and still no response from their technical support. There's nothing like taking your money and running.
![]() I've uninstalled Games for Windows Live & Market place and I'm still getting the same error. I'm finding it hard to believe that you might suggest that "something in GfWL is still messed up". What could go wrong?
I think that Steam needs to start offering games with at least 10 levels of security protection from a variety of vendors as that will surely lower the price of the games on the service and further enhance the customer experience. |
