My friend gave me a GTS 250 to upgrade from my onboard Radeon HD 4250 graphics. I plugged it in and the TV to it via an HDMI adapter. I made my way online to download the drivers for my card. After installation I restarted, and now, right after it says "starting windows" the screen goes black and says invalid format. I've tried going back to my onboard VGA port and reinstalling the drivers. Maybe it's because my onboard graphics are amd? I don't know, that's why I'm here. I've got an ASUS M4A88TD-V motherboard. It seemed to work fine until the login screen.

My first inclination would be that it's a resolution or refresh rate that your TV doesn't support. |

Yep, boot into windows in safe mode and adjust display settings to suit the TV.
