i see that this game does not get a lot of attention, which is a shame since it's pretty good at what it does.
in case anybody's looking into picking it up, don't let reports of incompatibility with modern OS or hardware discourage you. the original release had Tages copy protection. since it used an outdated driver incompatible with Windows 7, the game became unplayable. you had to manually download and install updated Tages-drivers from the their homepage. since the Steam release is no longer protected by 3rd-party DRM, the issue has become immaterial. the game runs perfectly fine on my quad-core W7x64 PC running an ATI 5870. also, don't let the fact that the demo (non-Steam only) may not work at all on your PC. i tried the demo on both my W7x64 and my WXPx86 installation, and it wouldn't work on either. it did work on my WVistax86 laptop, though. regardless, the full game works flawlessly as described above. BTW: in case you don't know anything about this game, it's the 2nd sequel of Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive, which was based on the game design of Commandos. the original game is available DRM-free vom GoG.com while the 1st sequel, Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge, is available on both Steam and GamersGate.
