What to do with Cicero? (spoiler alert)

What happens if I kill him? What happens if I let him live?

Summon Lucien Lachance and wait for his response.

No significant difference either way. Let him live, and he'll become one of your followers. Kill him.... and hey, he dies.

He is the most annoying NPC I've ever met in any RPG, and as a result when I was told to kill him. I did so with a smile on my face.

If you kill him nothing really happens beside that you don't have to listen to his obnoxious rambling.

You kill him, and you will get his clothes. One of the pieces of his clothes have 20% better prices, which is pretty neat. If you let him live, he can become your companion, who can steal your kills in battle and act obnoxious.

Your choice.

You can't kill him without a console command....trust me, I tried it. (His voice just really annoys the crap out of me).

Uhh, there is a quest were you choose, let him live or kill him. His body still lays in the same spot I killed him. His head laying on candles. I'm on Ps3 btw so I don't get console commands. Mabye you tried to kill him b4 the quest and therefor unable to do so?

Arrow

I just completed this very same quest myself tonight. What an awesome storyline. Read below on what you should do.
Spoiler:
The Spectral Assassin advises you to let him live, it is the will of Sithis.

I wanted to kill him from the first moment I set eyes on him.
Presented with the opportunity, I did not hesitate.

Spoiler below involves events before the one the thread is about, but I figured I'd block it anyway.

Spoiler:
I didn't kill him. I didn't even think about it. Is he annoying? Yes. The simple fact is that Astrid had repeatedly disrespected my role as Listener and the Night Mother. I believed Cicero was completely justified in his actions, even if he was an idiot to attack her alone with all her friends nearby. Heck, if I'd been there, I'd have helped him cleanse the whole lot of them... except Nasir. He's cool.

I did not know that.

I meant as in kill him before doing any quests for him.

keep him alive but when he's on the ground bleeding out, pickpocket him. he has 500 gold and no matter what you'll get it. he comes out with a line saying to take it because he has no use for it and forgives you or something like that.
