Red face Still can't connect to ICO

Has anyone else had trouble connecting to ICO? I bought the game on saturday, and played a single game. Then on sunday, ICO servers were down. Since then, I have been unable to connect, host, join, etc. on any servers.

Opening the ports on the firewall didn't help at all either. Does anyone still have this problem or know of how to fix it?

I sent an email to stardock and they said the servers are up..

Any help would be appriciated.

The servers were down for an hour or two twice in the past couple of days, but I'm pretty sure the problem's been fixed. Don't worry, that sort of thing is quite uncommon, the servers are up right now.

It tries to connect for a minute or two, then says, "Disconnected from ICO." If it connects, it does not show anyone on the chat, or rooms, nor can I host a game for some friends and I to play.

Any ideas? I connect sometimes, then disconnect. After that, it MIGHT let me host, but then immediately disconnects.

Sometimes I've had problems similar to what you're describing, but usually it fixes itself after I restart the game.

A possible problem could be if something else is sucking up all your bandwidth (or preventing connections) - have you tried turning off downloads, torrents, Peerblock, stuff like that? Maybe the firewall?

No program is running in the background. It disconnects frequently.

I have the program allowed under the firewalls as well, restarted, and nothing is happening. Can't search for games, cant host, nobody shows on chat, etc.

I apologize for doubleposting, but here is my update...

I still can not host a server, with the box checked or not. I join, and it takes about 4-5 minutes to join someone. Still can not chat in the channel, takes minutes and minutes to respond in chat, can't search for games that well...

Any idea how to fix this issue? At least I can log into ICO now.

I just saw you in the lobby, and I could see you connect to a game (and chat a couple sentences), but there was definitely a problem, your latency was like 50,000 to 99999 and it must've been taking ages to update for you.

You could do a virus scan, although I'm not that confident that would help anything - but if you posted a HijackThis log I might be able to help identify the problem. Maybe.

Rob, you might consider posting about this at the Technical forum at the official Sins forum:

I sent an email to stardock, and they talked to me for 2 days, then stopped talking all of a sudden. Hopefully there is something that will fix it. :\

My only thought is that it is on my University's internet. It might not agree with ICO. While playing at a different location on my laptop (as opposed to the desktop), I was able to get online.

Also, I sent you the log in a PM.
