Can I redeem Skyrim and Anno 2070 DVD keys on steam?

Hi, I was going to get Skyrim and ANNO 2070 on steam but I'm being asked for a Christmas list now so I thought about putting these games on it. Trouble is I want my games on steam as I can't be bothered with DVDs anymore, so:

1) Skyrim says "Games for Windows Live" on the DVD box - am I able to redeem the DVD code from the box on steam and just use steam from then on and stick the DVD in the loft or bin for ever more?

2) Is the same true for ANNO 2070.

I don't want to go through the hassle of explaining steam to people so it's either I put the DVDs on the list (if I can redeem code on steam) or I just buy them myself on steam at a later date.

Thanks.

Skyrim is a Steam Works games, so it's the only way to do it

I'd assume Anno as with others can also be activated on steam.

Only games listed on the list of Retail CD Keys (Link) can be activated on Steam.

Skyrim is on the list, since it's a Steamworks game. Anno 2070 is not and hence cannot be activated on Steam.

@Doddz
Don't assume if it only takes 30 seconds to look it up.

Skyrim says Games for Windows, not games for Windows Live. It's a Steamworks title.

I'm guessing because Sonic Generations is only available at other digital distribution sites at the moment and theres no retail release.

there is in europe, and steamworks also lets you register games from other digital distributors, so it should be on the list...

Its on steam for me, there are some countries that just remove them and UK seems to be pretty popular on that part.
