How do I extract music files from the .bsa?

I'd love to put some of Skyrim's music on my iPod but I'm not sure how to get it out of the .bsa file. Anyone know how to do so?

BSA Unpacker here or here.

Shouldn't need an explanation - it's very straightforward.

Well that was easy, thanks. Now I just need a way to convert it into mp3 or WAV format.

And here is where I come in!

This is a very POWERFUL converter with many options! It's easy to use and it makes it all simple! Just select what files you want then drag and drop into formatfactory and select what file types you want!

It detects which kind of files you drop in and gives you a set list of what to choose from for a shortcut(you can make any type of file into another easily with this!) I use this whenever I need a file converted!

This works with any type of media file! Pictures, Videos, Music! .jpg-.WAV!

Ah, should have read the whole question. It gets a little more complicated once you get to this point - there is an excellent guide (with pictures) in this post here.

In short, you will need to download xWMAEncode.exe, which is part of the Windows Software Developer kit - normally a 500+ MB dl for a tiny little file, but the author of the linked post has put a link for it in that post, I'll repost it again just in case: here.

So just follow those instructions, it's not too difficult.

Edit: ... or try the above post.

Haha, Gelbvieh thanks for that but I do not know for sure if my method will work as I don't know what kind of file type the .bsa unpacker leaves the file as when it's done um, unpacking?, so your method will be most helpful if mine fails!

lol, yes I type slow. The extracted files come out as .xwm - I don't think the linked program does have a function for converting those, actually. But who knows - I haven't tried.
