gameplay sluggish during boss battles

And I'm hypothesizing two different things here. One is that since I'm running an AMD video card, the physx is hitting my cpu hard during some of the parts, causing a slowdown. The other is latency from USB gamepads...The latter theory seems a little unlikely. Anyone else experience slowdowns during the boss battles?

I dont think its gamepad related. I don't think its physx related either tbh.

Is it all boss fights or just the machine boss?
What are your video settings? Do you have force FSAA or Ansio enabled in your catalyst settings? (use app settings is better for sideway)
