Steam store page not loading properly.

Anyone else here getting tired of getting no images and or videos to load while browsing the store from either the webpage or the steam client?
sometimes it loads perfectly but its been happening a lot more lately.
And before anyone tries to tell me its an error with my pc(browser or whatever) well it does this on my 3 different computers i have at home as well as 3 of my friends and my brother as well.

I'm sick of this too. For me, it's broken at least 75% of the time. It's been like this for at least 6-8 months. I was coming here to post about it because it's getting ridiculous.

And it's not always just a few images missing, sometimes the Store or Community pages are completely unusable, with just a few images showing and the whole layout of the page not working.

Happens in Steam itself and in every browser. Dunno if it's server based but it happens to my friends here in Quebec also.

There's a massive sale on, so the servers have been flooded and are crashing. Relax, they're working on it.

Are you saying this "massive sale" has been going on for about 6 to 8 months? :P

That was more directed at the OP, who didn't mention 6-8 months. But (and this is also something the OP said) if you're having trouble with images and videos, you might try checking whether your flash player is updated to the latest version. Although, if it's widespread (both of you say that friends have been having the same issue), then it could be either a problem with Steam's regional servers or with your ISP.

EDIT: You are the OP. :P But, I didn't see 6-8 months mentioned in your original post, so.

This is still an issue, And has been going on regardless of sales. I actually Googled for "steam pages not loading properly or at all" and this was the first thing that popped up. Not sure if it's serverload, Or faulty update a few steam updates ago or what but I'm hoping it's fixed and soon.

Google DNS

I've been having the same issue for a while as well, and found this thread.

Using some google-fu tonight, I seem to have stumbled upon the fix from an older 2010 thread (http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1654380).

Someone points out that you can set up your internet connection to use Google's DNS settings instead of letting your connection use your ISP's. If you follow the instructions on this page, it might help. (http://code.google.com/intl/it-IT/sp...ocs/using.html). This worked wonders for me! My Steam Store interface is now perfectly rendered.

Hope it works for you!

Steam needs to fix this. It's still happening, I've reset my IE to defaults, it works at first then stops. I am not using google DNS so they can track and log every click I make on the internet.

Same issue here. I use OpenDNS, and I'm not going to switch to Google's DNS servers just for Steam. Why would this be blocked at the DNS level in the first place?

Cool Fix

I recently couldn't see the pages on my browser or steam application but this helped https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...9828-SFLZ-9289
basically I had peerblock on and it blocked steam their is a lot of programs that can mess up with steam and block it.
