Wont download
Got to 317/317mb and said paused decided to delete and try again, paused halfway through, tried again and now it pauses before its even downloaded a byte. I've downloaded other games during all this and the last attempt was downloading it on its own without any other games downloading. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what to tell you, as this is really a steam client issue rather than an issue with any specific game -- us individual gamedevs don't have anything to do with the steam client itself, unfortunately.
From my experience as a user of Steam, you might try restarting the Steam client to see if it will then finish downloading the game. Seems like I had some trouble of that sort with L4D2, and that might have been the solution but it's been a while. Wish I could help more! |

Yeah I know its a steam issue but it only happens for AI so I thought I'd ask here to see if I was the only one. Might try resetting my router.

It also might be worth looking at swapping onto a different download location (Steam settings > downloads + cloud) - that has helped me bouncing between my 3 local clusters, especially during sale events!

Tried changing download location, didn't help. Stuck at 317/317.54mb now though, it downloads for miliseconds before going back to suspended status (pausing and unpausing doesn't help) so maybe it will download fully.

Edit: Wasn't an ideal fix but I had downloaded the game onto an old laptop ages ago so I dusted it off, booted it up and copied the ai war folder in the steam common folder to usb and pasted into my pc's common folder and clicked install game and it worked. Glad that ordeal is over.

Yeah it happens more often lately with some games. It may be related with how Steam handles now all the files and new content. If the download goes normally, don't bother deleting and redownloading everything.
Let it be paused and just verify game files in properties. Normally it will say that all files are downloaded and you're good to go

Whew, glad that worked out, anyhow! It's definitely frustrating when something like that happens, but I think Steam's servers are really getting pushed to their capacity with this year's sale from the looks of things! Really glad to hear that alternate workaround worked with the steam client.
