Wtf people buying dota 2
Why do people trade in $20 games for dota 2 when after the beta ends, the game will most likely be free anyways or they'll have to rebuy the copy when the person who sells it probably got it for free?
Are people that eager to spend money on a game they could easily wait a few month to play anyways? |

People want DOTA 2, I had a beta key, which I gave away for free to my friend. Cause I think it's stupid buying for a beta key.

I got Payday and Hot Pursuit(horrible mistake) for Dota 2 invites. It's their money, can't complain.

My two keys got me Space Marines, The Binding of Issac and Dead Island. I don't even like DOTA2. It's not a bad game, just a bit too error punishing for me to enjoy.

Do have any proof it's free? You don't. And don't compare it to other free to play games.
And with the way things are going and the value that it can fetch, Valve won't even want to give anyone DOTA for free when they can easily charge $50 and everyone will still gladly pay. I'm speaking from a rational business perspective. Free? You're better off praying you win the lottery. |

As it currently is though if valve charges $50 for dota2, it will never be as popular as League of Legends and will lose out in the long run so I'm guessing it'll be free with cash shop or at least cheaper than $50. |

People can be notoriously impatient and impulsive when it comes to beta tests.
People have been known to offer hundreds of dollars to get into Blizzard beta tests. Like SC2, and now Diablo 3. They literally have no qualm paying that kind of money just get an extremely limited content preview of half of Act 1 of the game. I have no shock that someone would trade a $20 game for a DOTA beta key. I wouldn't. But I bet one thing.. I bet that after the fact, they'll feel stupid for giving up that much value. I've seen that quite often too.. people who lamented spending upwards of $200+ for an SC2 beta key. |

They were actually worth 60-80 dollars on the first batch.
If you play TF2, you will learn that people will go to extreme lengths just to get what they want. |

Hmm. It actually says n/a next to the monthly cost also. It's probably all jacked up because it's in beta now. |

![]() ![]() But once it reaches the user's hands, it is no longer free. Go trade something for it if you don't have it already. No one will hand you one for free. Stop assuming everything is free. |
