I have played the original Half Life before, and now that I have it again I decided to start playing it. About 45 minutes in some music started playing, but not the epic sounding music that plays at certain points in the story. This music sounds like christian rock, CANNOT be muted in any way from the audio options and is not related to any background program. Anybody else experience this? Am I being trolled by Steam? Should I re-install windows? Sacrifice a goat to appease the internets?

I have absolutely no idea about christian rock being implemented in this game. If you could tell me exactly what map or area this is playing, maybe I could check it out as well for you.

Remove the christian rock cd from you disc drive and get a better taste in music. Or maybe this is the first sign of the rapture.

LOL @ Verwandlung
@Underdog The random music has been encountered in several maps around the Office Complex and Unforseen Consequences chapters. The only explanation I have for this is that some rogue employee at VALVe decided to modify the GCF for HL1 for April Fools and never changed it back. EDIT: You were right Verwandlung, My mother wanted to make a copy of a cd and didn't bother to tell me that she used my computer, she also didn't take the disc out afterwards. So I was trolled by my mom, not VALVe. Last edited by andy rofl: 12-23-2011 at 04:58 PM. |

Sometimes music doesn't even play for me. So if you have a CD in your computer, the game will use the music on the disc instead of the ones in the game files?
If that is true then Queen is gonna play Half life 2 which will make it even more epic. |

HL always plays music from the CD when available. It's been this way since it was first released.
