Mega CD versions?

I just found out today that steam offers Genesis games, but do these games have the much improved audio of the Sega CD versions?

Ecco the dolphin is a completely different experience with the improved audio, so I wish to know what version this is.

No source for this information so, take it with a pinch of salt.
