No audio (and removing patches)
Hey, I just put Dead Island on my new computer by copying the files from my old computer (a mac which had downloaded the game) over to my new computer, but there was no audio. How can I fix this? Additionally, is there a way to remove the patch that nerfs zombies? Thanks!

Install the game properly on your new PC.
And there is no way to remove any patches once they're installed. |

prob installed some Mac drivers during the initial install..... try re installing the game if the "verify game files" in the DI properties doesn't work..... files might have gotten corrupted during the move.

Verifying now, thanks! And, found a great mod to really ramp up the difficulty of Dead Island, so that's solved.

The likely reason you have no audio is because, unlike most games which create the config files in the documents folder, Dead Island has them in the game folder.
You probably have the wrong audio renderer in the Audio.scr file. If verify/reinstall doesn't resolve it, try deleting this file and start the game. If that still fails, try changing the audio renderer in the file with a text editor. |
