Valve DoDS Great Gift Pile Achievement

Anyone got this?

How do you actually get it? And what does it actually bring you?

i got it, took about 5 minutes. basically every once in a while, you'll kill someone and they'll drop a big floating present thing and you just walk over it to pick it up and you need to get 3 of them.

if you haven't seen them that's probably because the server you've been playing on has it turned off, there's an option to do that.

it gets you nothing other than the satisfaction of having another achievement

I wouldn't say just yet...IF they add the gift drop achievement to the list objectives in the great gift pile.....then, you'll at least get coal for getting the achievement.

P.S.
This achievement is also in TF2, CS:S, and L4D2. I have it in everything, except L4D2.

So, if I set mp_holiday_nogifts to "0" does it allow gifts then? My Clan mates tell me that they haven't seen any gifts yet on our server on any player deaths since this started.

Played over a hour the last day on several servers, and never saw one.

mp_holiday_nogifts is NOT a DoD:S cvar.

There are three cvars related to the achievement:
dod_winter_always_drop_presents (def. 0)
dod_winter_never_drop_presents (def. 0)
dod_winter_present_drop_chance (def. 0.2)

All are "game cheat" protected.

Jimmy, are you running a windows or linux server? Our linux server hasn't been dropping presents ...

The TF2 achievement gets you a piece of coal.

So yes, the achievement brings you something for the Gift Pile.

We're running a Linux server. I guess that explains it.

How to find a server with presents ? Just played 3 games didnt saw a single present.

You're kidding, I have to get 60 kills to complete this? I hate this and TF2 and they have the worst (for me) achievements as I have to play for ages at these brain dead games.
