The promotional item connected with Quake 4 was "The Original" - which was the Quake model for the rocket launcher. There was never any rail gun. And that promotion was pre-release only. If you want The Original now, you're gonna have to craft it.

Or hit up a tf2 trader and pay a scrap for it. You should never, ever rely on the crafting system to get anything.

Considering that you can easily get the hat you want reliably through trading, for half the price if not less, there is no rational reason to bother with crafting anymore unless you like wasting your time.
