controller issues - help?

Anyone know of a workaround for playing this with a 360 controller? It has native support, the only problem is due to how the movement is emulated on the stick from WASD, it causes you to randomly dash all over the place and at the worst times.

I tried disabling the in-game pad support and mapped everything with joy2key, but that didn't help.

Game is pretty decent otherwise.

I find the control system with the controller awkward at times, but after a while one gets used to it. My son though jsumps from one game to another using the controller without any difficulties, so maybe its an age thing
