I had my eyes on this game for a while, and now I've bought it 2,99€ was a deal I could not resist.
Played almost an hour, and do I like it - YES I do! This game is way better than I thought. |

I bought Dark Void when it was realeased and was always happy I did. This game was very under-rated and it deserved so much more attention and praise that it got. The biggest problem was it's lack of polish. I blame the publisher for that, if it were given a little more time to iron out the bugs many of the issues people have had with it would not have existed.
If this game had been made by a developer like Epic (GoW, Unreal games) it would've been recognized for sure and got the reception it deserved as long as ironing out all the bugs. It's a shame it failed when you could tell so much was put into it. It even has Nathan Drake's voice in it! It almost seems like I'm playing a Uncharted game with Jet-packs! I had a few technical issues with the game that I figured out fairly quick and once I got by them I enjoyed the game beginning to end with no problems. I even loved the fact that they released a patch to show off Nvidia's Physx which was quite impressive in itself. If you like cover based shooters, games with good story lines, a fleshed out sci-fi universe amd flying games I most certainly you try it out. With the price being so low (on sale or not) it's too good to pass up. |

Just beat it, definitely was surprisingly decent and fun (unlike Bionic Commando). I really liked the vertical shooting parts and the unobtrusive QTEs, but too much else hampering down the game.
1) The flight controls are total garbage, the mouse is either too sluggish or too sensitive and the inability to use the keyboard is it terrible. Plus the way he always takes off clumsily (which can cause you to disorient or crash) should've disappeared after a little bit since you would assume he would be used to it. Once the Ark came into play I gave up dogfighting and just sat in the AA guns. 2) Besides the level 3 machine gun, all the weapons seem useless (though I didn't upgrade all of them and played the game on normal) 3) Story was ok, some good sci-fi stuff but nothing to get riled up with. Steam says 7 hours played but I swear it felt like only 3.
I was happy when the game finally went on sale over Christmas ($3 bucks to boot!) and I got my money's worth. B- |
