OSX Lion

I am currently running Snow Leopard(OSX 10.6.8) and was thinking of finally making the switch to Lion.

I avoided Lion for a while after it's release so the bugs could be worked out. During this period, I heard people saying the Adobe Creative Suites(which I use for work) and Steam(and all the OSX games) would not run on Lion, while others saying just the opposite. I even read somewhere on these forums that Lion actually will run Steam and Source games better. So I'm a little apprehensive.

I know Lion had some big updates since it's release and I was thinking that all these potential issues have been put to rest.

So, for those of you who know: Will Steam(and all the available OSX games) run fine on Lion?

Thanks for your time.

System:
iMac
OSX 10.6.8
4gb RAM
ATI RadeonHD2600

I have Lion and everything runs fine for the most part. There may still be some indie games that don't work with Lion, but I think a lot of them have been patched. But otherwise, it's mostly like Snow Leopard.

That's what I thought, but I was not sure.

I would rather take the time to ask then just jump into Lion and discover that most of the programs/games I use most often did not work.

Thanks for your input.

Hey guys,

I have OSX Lion on a new Macbook Pro 13" and I am having the hardest time getting CS:S to run. Do you guys know any solutions to this issue? My specific issue: every time I attempt to play CS:S, it tells me it isn't syncing with what is on the server. I do have a regular 13" Macbook (white model) with Snow Leopard and when I do launch CS:S it works perfectly.

Any ideas on this issue? Macbook Pro Specs:

2011 Macbook Pro
Intel Core i5 2.4ghz dual-core
750gb HDD
8gb RAM
Intel HD Graphics 3000
OSX Lion

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I've been running Lion from day one. No noticeable different in TF2, which I'm disappointed to say. I really was open OpenGL 3 would be included by now since Value talked about it before.

I don't know if you have installed Lion yet, but you should be aware that apple killed Rosetta, so older PowerPC apps will no longer run. This won't be a problem for Steam games, though.

I just upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion this past weekend. Absolutely no issues!

Creative Suite CS3: Runs perfectly. (no need to upgrade, it does everything I need. Saving a lot of money here!)
TF2: Slightly better performance. Nothing to write home about but every frame counts right?

The only issue that really affected me was that Apple replaced Samba with its own SMB implementation, so directories shared out from my Mac no longer work properly with my XBMC media box. Installing Samba from Macports was easy and fixed the problem, though.
