video problem

hi ,

i installed NWN2 , i changed screen resolution and now i can t play because i have a dark screen with :" out of range 96.5MHZ / 60 hz" written on .
I suppose i choosed a too high resolution for my video card / screen.

Can u help me ?.

Hi. In your "\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2" (the default location), the file "nwn2.ini" exists. Open with notepad and edit. I lowered the resolution of my game and here is a portion of my nwn2.ini:

i can t find nwn2.ini , i just have nwn2 ( like a block note ) .
i change resolution but nothing apen , i still have a black screen .
Can tell me how u do with the keyboard only, how to go to the video menu and change to the lowest resolution.
i don t have picture but i have sound so i suppose i can do that

There it is, you must scroll down a little bit. I have just look into mine, it's there!

Hi. You may have to change your windows setting to allow you to view extentions, in other words, so you can view the ".ini" part of "nwn2.ini"

Hi. Sounds like you have more than a resolution problem. Make sure you have directx 9.0c installed, your latest video drivers, and net framework 3.5. Check this help site:

all this programs are up because on the first installation the game worked , the screen turn black when i changed the resolution.
i just went my first resolution back

In that case, try renaming your "/Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2" folder to something like "/Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2 Original". Next, start the game. The game will recreate the "/Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2" folder and the original settings the game installed will return.

If it works, move your saved games over to the new folder.
