Lan servers are restricted to local clients (class C)

I keep getting this error after trying to connect to my server through direct connect ip 108.60.199.92:27115.

I tried typing sv_lan 0 in the console.
I tried moving the addons folder contents into a disabled folder.

Any ideas on how to fix this? This all started happening after todays update.

ok open your SERVERS server.cfg file
put this into it
sv_lan 0
//Server is a lan server (no heartbeat, no authentication, no non-//class C addresses) [enable LAN = 1; disable LAN = 0]
also try changing the port
hostport 27019
//default 27015; Host game server port
try sv_lan 0 and sv_lan 1 see if it helps
in console type
exec server
this will load your settings form server.cfg
by the way link dont work

OK i just found out new update has caused this apparently so i was right lol

I have a similar issue that I posted about in the Source DS forum. http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2474262

In a nutshell, I'm getting this message in my server console window.

* Unable to load Steam support library. *
* This server will operate in LAN mode only. *

I ran hldsupdatetool with -verify_all switch. Problem still persists. Oh yeah, my server also crashes when people connect through the lobby.

All of this happened after yesterday's update.

Connection to Steam servers successful.
VAC secure mode is activated.
] version
Version 2.0.9.4 (left4dead2)
Network Version 2.0.4.2

so maybe they havnt updated there side of the server as its still accepting the older version, my game is updated so im gonna see if i can connect
Ok tried and get this error http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...nsistency.png/server enforcing consistecy for pak whatever

Ok im gonna try this fix
in server.cfg
sv_consistency 0

it works =))
ok to sum up my server is on 2094 before this little update
my game is fully up to date and i can connect using sv_cosistency 0 in server.cfg(server side)
so DONT update SERVER for now at least it seems

I did notice a conspicuous absence of "your server is out of date" messages in my server console. But I ran hldsupdatetool anyway.

And if there was no server update, then why does my server crash when clients try to connect? (edit: connect through lobby)

Have you guys fixed your problem? My server is empty, no player can join. I have 3 other L4D2 servers but I didn't update, I'm afraid will get same error. So I just put sv_consistensy 0 to allow players join, and the server that I did update, is impossible to play.

Fix is still unknown. I have posted here, in Steam's Source DS forum, and in the Allied Modders Source DS forum.

FYI, my updated server still says version 2.0.9.4 (net 2.0.4.2)

FWIW, my server is on my LAN so I am still able to play, but only if I connect through the Group Server at the bottom of the main menu screen on a client. Connecting to my server via the lobby causes the server to crash. So even if the LAN issue gets fixed, I would recommend you avoid updating your server until the crash-on-lobby-connect is fixed too.

All of you, the solution to this problem is most likely that you first and foremost use the following command propts:

-secure
enable VAC protection

sv_lan 0
Or remove sv_lan from your server config.

Then type sv_lan in your console and check to see if it is 0. If not, your server files are corrupted. Not having a problem with this since last update.

I find it hard to believe that my server files are corrupted, because I ran hldsupdatetool with -verify_all. Unless -verify_all doesn't actually verify all the server files...

I do not use -secure. I do pass in sv_lan 0 as a command-line parameter for my non-LAN server. I will try later tonight to remove the sv_lan 0.

Although I still want to know why my server is now saying "Unable to load Steam support library" after running hldsupdatetool. It never said this before yesterday. And it still says this even after -verify_all.

EDIT:

I should note that I'm running a Windows DS.

If you don't have steam installed, install it. No need to create account or sign in. If you have steam installed, uninstall and install.

Then, start your server again.

Duh, doesn't work at all.
I think the new server update is corrupt, my server keeps crashing after some time.

Sending heartbeat to master server...
RejectConnection: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx - #Valve_Reject_LAN_Game
] sv_lan
"sv_lan" = "0"
- Server is a lan server ( no heartbeat, no authentication, no non-class C addresses )

But sv_lan = "0" should be via internet, not via lan. >_>
