How to make money from TF2

Can someone make a profit by making a bunch of premium accounts and selling the metal they craft from idling? If so, what stops people from making this "easy" money? Why don't more people do it?

I have heard of this Nooch guy who has 200+ accounts; is it possible to create that many with Valve's 2 credit card per account policy?

I guess I'm just wondering why I don't get in on profiting from the TF2 economy...

I imagine he might have made the accounts, then gifted them all TF2 back when it wasn't F2P. I also imagine it would have been done during sales.

There's no point buying a bunch of accounts to idle. there's also no point to profit from the tf2 economy, i stopped trading once i realized that focusing on my day job earns me 10 times more cash per time spent on virtual wall street.

Honestly, it's a nice idea to sell unusual's for money but your going to worry a lot about the person ripping you off. But profit in another form can still be made, like saving up buds for future games. I haven't really profited at all yet, I just started with a couple and working on another and perhaps last one.

It is indeed possible provided you have the hardware to run multiple copies of tf2 at once on one computer. The most time consuming tasks would be to crafting all the weapons into metals and find buyers who'd be willing to pay cash/promos for the metals.

You could get money, but it's definitely a lot less than you would get from basically any real job, even working at McDonald's (or whatever other minimum wage job you choose).

You can do it, but it's a pathetic and disgusting way to live. This is why I never trade keys for metal - it's like giving money to the homeless.

You used to be able to make a few hundred a month by buying and selling unusual hats, but the economy is pretty ehhh right now so it's tricky.
