Smile Oh well. First thread here. Question about pixels.

Hello everyone. I am thinking on buying those games tomorrow and I have a question for those of you who have already played any of them before.

What are the graphic options for those games? For me it would be perfect if there was an option to make it look all pixelized and blocky like old school Lucas Arts games and play in window without scaling, stretching and smoothing of pixels. Is this possible? I sure hope so.

Thanks everyone for answers.

I'd like to know as well... but without forum link on the game's store page , I highly doubt there'll be someone answering our question....

Hi. Developer of the game here.

The game's default settings should keep the graphics all blocky-like. They were designed to be played that way, so unless your monitor has an unusual size there shouldn't be any stretching or anything. If you have any problems with the visuals, let me know or post it here.

Thank you for the quick reply, I guess it should be ok on my 24" monitor.
Another question, does it support 16/9 screen or you have to "stretch" the image ?

It *should* work OK. If not, let me know. Worse case scenerio, you can run it in windows mode.

i've noticed a very minor problem (unless it was intended). after playing the first 2 games so far, i've noticed that during the introduction scenes, there are extra rectangles on the corners of the screen (if that makes any sense...)

crude drawing alert, how my monitor looks: http://i43.tinypic.com/9731j6.jpg

it's only for the duration of the intro, and doesn't happen at any other time. the background image that scrolls to the side is visible in all of the pink area.

probably well known and documented, but you did say to mention problems with visuals.

Was this Blackwell Unbound? Or all the games? This happened to one other guy when he beta tested that game, but nobody else and no other game.

I just started Blackwell Unbound and got the same thing although not for the entire duration of the intro scenes, just for a few seconds.

I'm having the same issue with the first two games.

However, if you turn "Side borders on widescreen monitors" flag off in winsetup, the problem fixes itself.

So how do the games graphics behave excactly? The Store page says the games' resolution are 640*400. But are they confined to this resolution or is there a nearest neighboring pixel multiplier provided (such as with SCUMM or DOSbox)?

ie. Will it adjust to my resolution (1920x1080) while maintaining the clean look of uprezzing (like Wizzorb, Jamestown, Cthulhu Saves the World do)? Or will it use a scaling algorithm that will make it look slightly blurry?

lowscore: It uses a nearest neighboring pixel multiplier. The game is actually drawn at 320 x 240 and the game doubles it up to 640 x 480 by default. From there the game will automatically adjust to your monitor size, but you can manually adjust it further to any other resolution you wish.
