Anno 2070 Multiplayer
I cannot join any Anno 2070 multilayer games.
It says I cannot to connect to any of the other players. I have clicked on the help, but it does not solve the problem. |

Sounds like you have ports closed or your firewall is blocking the program.

I don't have this problem with any other multiplayer game that I own.
I've also followed the steps for port opening in the FAQ. Strange thing is that I can join some games and if I wait long enough, some people can join mine. But the majority of the games, it says I cannot connect to them (and I'm connecting to lobbies with people in them). |

I'm also unable to join any games, however others cannot join me (though i've not waited for long periods of time). Disable firewall/AV and following FAQ didn't fix, tested ports in other games no issues.

hi guys my girlyfriend is playing online and is connecting very fast, she has no server problems.
add her in steam for questions; zimtzicke78 try this if you have one pc try portforward for more than one pc try triggering only forward/trigger steam Steam UDP 27000-27030 Steam(2) TCP 27014-27050 and my uPnP is ON all steam games nat are open on all our computers in the house. to open up ports for every game, makes the network unsafe. i couldnt join a guy his game, went to the link to get the port info, i think it was only a single 3074 udp port, openend that, restart game to be sure, and after that i could join the same guy...... link info must work, perhaps try opening this single port, that would solve it.
could be ofcourse, that the person in question that you are trying to join hasnt opened his ports. dont know if it gives an another error if that happens... Last edited by derk: 06-22-2012 at 01:44 PM. |

Checking Steam Ports
Try the Firebind Steam test.
http://www.firebind.com/steam It will tell you if any of the ports required by Steam are being blocked by a firewall in the outbound (PC to Internet) direction. |

Anno 2070 has been really strange.
As I'm alone behind the NAT router I could easily forward the simple udp port but the result was pretty much hit and miss. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Yesterday when the game wouldn't connect no matter how many times we tried and both creating the game (2 player game). When it worked I was usually weirdly disconnected from Anno while ingame. The only way we got the game back running was to manually replicate this by janking my network cable while inside the game and when Anno managed to reconnect it finally worked. |

I've started or joined at least a dozen multiplayer games but people usually crash or lag out or simply leave before the game ends because it takes so long to finish a game. I also became irritated by the speed up function being disabled in MP games and kinda quit playing them for that reason.
Conquest mode might be the best way to play MP actually, you can speed up the games and still (indirectly) compete against other people. |

I don't think the servers are bad actually, speaking for myself I simply think my machine is too old and I crank up the settings too high for it to play nice in MP. But since I refuse to roll with lower quality graphics I sometimes have to suffer a game freeze/crash.
![]() The bigger issue I think is the speed thing being disabled in MP games, waiting for factories to grind out enough materials or tools to make a house is just.. boring. I would suggest trying some games and seeing for yourself though, since you're new to the game the normal game speed probably wouldn't bother you yet. Or at the very least try a conquest game. |
