I don't consider it DRM, I consider it a tool I use to track my playtime statistics, chat with people, automate cloud saves, etc. You talk about running it without a client, like it's something I would want -- I use the client intentionally to allow me to instantly have all of my games up and running again after I reformat, no need to reinstall.

So turning your question on its head, you're basically asking me why I don't buy it at GOG and have a version without the features I want.

It's 40 on gamersgate, so if steam gets the whole collection I'm guessing that's how much it'd be.

If gamersgate has the entire D&D collection, I don't see why steam can't have it too. Unless Valve rejected some of the games for some odd reason. It would be kind of strange for them to sell BG2 but not BG1.

They do have Neverwinter Nights 2, but not Neverwinter Nights 1, though, so you never know I guess.

About time! I have the Dungeons and Dragons Master Collection version of the game that was released a few months ago (saw it at Wal-Mart, had the first two games plus the expansions, both Icewind Dale Completes, Planescape Torment and the Temple of Elemental Evil). There is no reason for no one not to own this game, it's a masterpiece.

It's been in the registry for a couple months now, so I wouldn't hold my breath for it releasing "soon".

It will probably get released eventually.

Good stuff, though I already have the complete version. Highly recommended for the 5 CRPG fans who haven't played it yet. Oh yeah, being able to register my copy on Steam would be great.

Just a heads up so you don't buy it blind but Baldurs Gate on the PC is completely different to the GBA version.
Both are great games but the console version is more Diablo than Baldurs Gate.

I've bought BG1 and BG2 from GoG this holiday sales, so I won't buy them from steam, but it is good for them to be on the store

BG2 complete is for sale over at gamersgate for less than 5 Euro at the moment.

I doubt Steam will be cheaper than that, although I guess some people may pay a bit more to keep all there games on Steam.

Unless they are updated to work with a modern OS like GoG there really is no reason to purchase on Steam.
