Resurrection of Evil with retail Doom 3?

It says that Resurrection of Evil requires the base game DOOM 3 on Steam in order to play. I have the old boxed version of D3--is it possible for me to use the Steam version of RoE with this?

I don't even think it will let you buy ROE without owning doom 3 on steam, if It did though, then yes theoretically i don't see why not.

If it clearly states on the store page sumthang...then it is what it says...

Dont try and fool/lye to yarself and hope that it works then try and get mad and say its the publishers/developers fault when clearly it isnt...
