The Bots Didn’t Come to Save Me…
New to this forum and wanna say HI!
Also, I do hope this community does not die and that Valve does not let go of the Xbox L4D(1&2) users (just based on what I have read here so far). I’m a bit of a zombie freak, a horror geek, and I really think this game is pretty cool. I tried putting other games in the console, but I always end up playing with this one, well at least up to this day. My location: Austria. As for the title, have you guys played single player before where a Smoker brought you somewhere and the bots never seemed to have reacted to this and just let you die, even if they were not really busy with anything? I never thought this would ever happen on single player mode (LOL!) but it happened to me just last night. Peace!

Unfortunately this seems to happen from time to time, and it really sucks when it does happen. It's some sort of A.I. glitch I think. I've had it happen to where I've been pounced by a Hunter and they'll just run up next to him and stand there.
Welcome to the forums!

That's one of the many reasons to only play with friends, either at coop or versus.

Hello! and welcome! I hope this community doesn't die either, because this game is just so awesome! I've been playing left 4 dead for about a year and a half now and I'm still not bored of it!As for your question, this happens to me all the time sadly. I got smoked once and there was no zombies around at all and the bots were right next to me and just watched me die That's why I am not a huge fan of single player.

Happened often.
Solution is to play campaign online, you'll need just one human to avoid this problem. ps cheers from friuli (near karnten)

Bots are preferable to shi++y players, because at least the bots are predictable.

Welcome to the forums. And yes, bots do have a habit of doing that. It has happened to me the most on the original game. Sometimes you can also get stuck in a glitch spot, where the bots aren't programmed to save you.
That being said, if we had this guy for a bot he'd be preferable to all human players. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...gement-day.jpg |

Thanks for the warm welcome y’all! I do hope to meet you guys on XBL!
@uait: We’re basically neighbours! Greetings from Vienna! It is very cold here at the moment. ![]() @ wolfshadow0118: I know exactly what you mean. I’ve had my share of disasters on Quick Match. After saving, healing and looking out for random co-players, I was shot to death just so one can get my pills and health kit (among many other crazy incidents). I then asked: “What was that all about?” – One of them answered (they had the same name, except for one having [1] at the end of his name): “We killed you. You’re dead now. Boohoo…” On my way out of the game, I heard “Oh, sh++, he left…” What were they expecting? I stay after they’ve just basically murdered me (lol!)? I did take note of their gamer tags. ![]() @Mincegamer: LOL! It would be nice to have a “Guest Survivor” like him, escorting and assisting the survivors to safe houses, something like how the L4D1 survivors help the others in The Passing. If he is playable, it would be more awesome! ![]() Peace again! |

The [1] means splitscreener. The first rule of l4d2 never play with splitscreeners on your team. Its best to host matches so you can kick them right when they join. Or atleast wait and hope they will be on the other team, if playing versus. And always try to vote them off if they join your match, if you have another person your team. Usually splitscreeners are to stupid to press 'no' to null the vote.

Wait until you have someone who will protect you from being kicked off by them. Then, with your buddy, continuously and perpetually keep attempting to vote kick one of them off. Eventually, most splitters screw up and fail to block the vote. For those particularly nasty split-screeners who can't be voted off, either TK them at the start of the next map, or wait until they've both been secured, then refuse to clear them....stand directly next to the secured splitters and watch them die. Or, if you kill the SI on them, then continue to shoot them and continue throwing the kick-vote up, until they leave. If they die, no big deal, because they weren't going to help you get points anyway, so it's no loss. On infected, if they have a boomer, slap it when it spawns with your hunter or charger. If they have a tank, get next to them with your boomer, especially if you can blow it off a ledge to its death. Once they leave, you will have a chance to win. It's even worse if there's one on each team, because then they're playing both sides. But that is easy to alleviate because a vote for either one of them by either team eliminates them from the server. |

And most important thing is to vote kick players like keistocazzo, or what is called.
There's nothing worst than have a sucker on your own team Last edited by uait: 02-08-2012 at 11:17 PM. |

Spilt-Screen Kicking 101:
Send the original account a long and garbled voice message. As soon as they've stopped to listen to it, vote to kick the (1) player. They'll be in their guide so they can't return fast enough to be able to say no. Splits are kicked
