All About PvP Tournaments

Two men are seated opposite each other in a luxurious dining chamber. One is dressed in a military dress uniform, all gold braid and ostentatious epaulettes, while the other wears simple but well made clothes, and a thick black fur cloak that shimmers in the candlelight.

“Oh Vanyard, always so quick to take credit for the actions of others, but when something goes wrong it’s nothing to do with you.” The man in the cloak speaks with a condescending tone.

“Impudent swine!” Vanyard stood up and spat our his cigar, rows of gaudy medals jingling on his chest. “That’s Supreme Grand Marshall to you.”

“Most men need to earn their titles, in some form at least. You granted this one yourself, didn’t you? Fancy yourself quite the warlord?” The other man takes another sip of his wine. “As far as I can tell, you’ve never proven worthy of it.”

“This is the last time I will take your slights!” Vanyard leans forward over the table, trembling with rage, his face red. “I am a marauder and proud of it! Let's see if you can put any truth to your words on the battlefield. I challenge you! Pick your champions, and I’ll pick mine, we’ll see who emerges victorious.”

“A tournament, is it?” The cloaked figure nods approvingly. “We’ll fight the first round of battles a week from now, then more each day after until only one commander is left. It will be every commander for himself, of course, as a tournament should be – unless you fear that all of your favorites might get knocked out before the final?”

“It will be your champions who are out before the final battle!” Vanyard shouts, his voice high pitched now. “You will be crushed beneath the might of Supreme Grand Marshall Vanyard!”

The other figure looks as if he is about to say something, but then he simply smiles before finishing his glass and walking from the room.

That’s right, Champions! Time to scrub your horses, gather your ammunition and polish your tanks for the upcoming PvP Tournaments! Today we share with you how the tournament system works and what you can expect!

How to Join Tournaments
Tournaments will be announced long ahead of time. There will be a period of time for players above level 10 to register. The starting date and time (set to Eastern Standard Time) as well as the prizes per round are already visible. In order to ensure all players are serious to participate in this tournament we will ask an entry fee. If you have signed up but choose to leave before the tournament starts, this is possible but the fee is not reimbursed. There will be a countdown until the first round begins. You can see who else has joined as well.

Which Units Can I Use?
In order to provide an even ground for players to play in, there will be three Army Types. The first one is called Blacklist. We can remove any units (for example Black Skull units of Bomb Trucks) from the tournament. All other units from your inventory are available to use.

The second Army Type is called Preset, where we provide an exact amount of units which you can use for the competition. We may limit the number or types of units to offer a pure skill battle.

The third Army Type is called Pool, where we offer a grand scale of units and you can pick and choose your preferred units. It’s a combination of Blacklist and Preset because some units might not be available. But in this setup you can still choose, for example, Tri-Scouts over Mounted Bombers if you only use them in your own battles as well.

Turns and Rounds
In the Tournament Overview you can always see how long the round will last and when you are expected to start. We will send you automated messages to alert you about progression in the tournaments, but we also need to rely on you to be there. We will use turn timers and round timers comparable to the current PvP battles. This includes for example if a player fails to deploy within the round time, the opponent wins.

No Cheating
Cheating will result in immediate removal from the tournament. As a strict measure we have also implemented that closing the window ends your turn! However, if you need to reboot for example, you can save in the middle of your turn and then close the window. In that case you will not be penalized. So remember to save your turns! You must accept the rules before joining the tournament. The rules will also be available for reading in the Library.

Rounds and Prizes
The winners from each round will move on to the next round to face their new opponent. Per round you may win some great prizes and of course some fantastic PvP Rating (for the Leaderboard)! You will receive the prizes you won upon exiting the tournament, whichever round you made it to. The winner of the tournament will be displayed in the Tournament History, and widely celebrated!

I Want To Participate!!
We will frequently host tournaments with various types of prizes. Perhaps this time we offer some high level units, next time it could be a poster or a T-shirt, or how about a Grand Cash Prize! For more information on tournaments you can check out the Library.
