Push notifications

Maybe I'm missing something, but are there push notifications on iOS? I'm not getting anything when the app is backgrounded.

It's a whole new level of "soon". Valve Time + Apple Review Time

With a couple of exceptions, Apple Review Time in my experience is exactly 7 days, so it's not much worse than Valve time :P

Can we get a clear response from a valve employee on what we'll get notifications for?

JasonM - is that also going to cover the fact I'm logged out of chat the second I move away from the "Friends" screen rather than remaining logged in (and receiving pushed notifications) for x minutes after closing?

I notice that the chats stop updating, and the app goes "Offline" when the screen is turned off, even when the app is left up. I assume this is the same deal, and the app goes into a state of semi-background, so the fix for push notifications will fix this too, but I just wanted to quickly bring it to your attention in case I turn out to be incorrect.

I'm excited for the final product. It looks pretty awesome so far!

This would be useful if someone sent you a message or a game in your wishlist went on sale.

I'm glad this is brought up. It pretty much makes the app unusable on for me. According to a friend, Androids have a setting that allows the app to stay online. On my iPhone, the chat goes offline every time I minimize the app, even if the phone just goes to black screen after a while. This means that I can't talk to friends because it just keeps signing off.

Side note, if other people are still using it on iOS, and able to chat with friends, let me know what you're doing! The only way I can is if I keep the app open and my iphone "awake," which is a drain on battery...and annoying.

Steam mobile is starting to aggravate me. It keeps sending me push notifications about chat messages that I don't have, and even when signed out of steam mobile, it'll send me a push notification for chat messages for the account last used. So I'll be signed out on my phone but signed in on my computer and when a friend messages me I get a notification on my phone about it.
