Activation?

Hi, I recently got an invite for the Steam Mobile beta, and I was wondering how to activate it? It is in my Steam Inventory, but I cannot seem to find a code or where to activate it.

you don't need to activate it, its automatically applied, just log into the mobile app

I got sent a gift apparently containing Steam Mobile from one of my friends, redeemed the gift, however the item didn't appear in my inventory nor am I able to log in on my iPhone =\
