What's the best way to clean up Mad Bomber failed waves?

I find after a failed counter attack I end up with one system with about 30 Bomber Starships... well, since I'm at a bottleneck there's nothing else to do but wait for my 1200 other ships to get kited around for about an hour cleaning them up.

I think it's just 'cuz they're so fast. It's embarrassing watching an entire fleet take out only a handful of ships so slowly.

My starting unit on this game is Parasites, the enemy's favourite units this time seems to be Laser Gatlings (if applicable).

Summary: I've already defeated the wave, it's just taking an asinine amount of time to clean out the roaming Bomber Starships.
