The "Press Enter" problem Solutions

If you got the Problem when you press enter, that nothing happens at Mortal Kombat mainscreen, then are here some solutions that can help you to fix the problem. (called Windows Live)

run -> Services.msc -> start "Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant" -> run game and log into GfWL.

Set service to "automatic" and you will not have to manually do this before each game.


2. Solution by me


I had same problem with Windows Live ended Prematurely, so you dont need to download the Windows Live Assisstent, it hasnt worked for me.

So i first deinstalled all Windows Live crap from my PC including Windows Marketplace. For that go in Workplace and click on Sofware(XP) or deinstall Programms (Vista/7).

Search now for Microsoft Games for Windows and deinstall all of that (normally Marketplace and Live Redistributable)

Then i go in the Steamfolder:

Steam-->SteamApps-->common-->mortal kombat arcade kollection
-->support-->Gfwlivesetup.exe

The Gfwlivesetup.exe you need to run. Then its Updating automatic.
Now the "Trick" is while updating, you start Mortal Kombat Kollection.
Now Windows live can be open by pressing Pos1.
And if you got no Windows Live ID you had to create one, i know its crap :P.
If your logged in press enter and you come to the Mortal Kombat screen .

I dont know if that works for all of you, so its only the way, how i done it.

I did NOT installed the wllogin_32.msi

For experienced users (shorter version):
How i get it to run: (more luck than anything)

1. Deinstall Windows Live components.
2. go in Steam-->SteamApps-->common-->mortal kombat arcade kollection-->support-->Gfwlivesetup.exe
3. run Gfwlivesetup.exe
4. now fast while updating open Mortal Kombat Kollection
5. when you are at screen with "press enter" it should come windows live up the screen, so open it with pos1 and log in your account.

none of them worked? maybe you write what you did. Do you deinstalled all windows live components? And for solution 3. its maybe helpful to deinstall windows live too again.

Amazing! It worked! You defeated Windows Live! You are the supreme moratal kombat warrior! # 2 solution did it for me. The problem was triggered by my uninstallation of MSN I think. I guess Bill "Eugenicist" Gates doesn't like it when you reject his worthless programs.
