TF2 is starting to make my entire comp crash.

*before you ask, I'm on another computer typing this*

Anyway, I was playing TF2 today when suddenly, without warning, my computer shuts down. No blue screen of death, no error sign, no saying "your computer is shutting down" or what ever. Just a big, black screen.

The worse part is, my computer won't even turn on or let me charge it, this happened twice before it wouldn't even bother.

Help?

Yes, it is a laptop, a Toshiba one to be exact. It hasn't had any problems with TF2(other than Hl2.exe crashes)until now.

Its probably overheating. Get a GPU heat monitoring program such as Afterburner, OCCT or CPUID HWMonitor.

TF2 specifically is not and cannot cause this specifically.

I can't, I don't know them. I can't even turn on my computer to check.

And I'll do that, thanks.

Have you tried running other games, or a stress-test program such as Prime95 (CPU) and Furmark (GPU) to repeat the shutdown?

I run TF2 on an Inspiron laptop. I find everything runs better when I play in windowed mode and have my laptop balanced on a book so that the fan is next to open air. Not sure if it will work for you as well, but it's worth a shot.

Pardon me, but if I am Correct, it looks like Perfecent Cell Contains no Patience for his Current Predicament of his Preferred Choice of Pleasurable Competition Persistently Crashing his Personal Computer. Now, I can't Possibly say I Personally Comprehend of the Problem Causing this Particular Circumstance, but I do Perceive the Concern as being a rather Provoking Conundrum, so I will Ponder Ceaselessly until I can Perhaps Come up with a Pleasing Conclusion.

I do Cincerely Pray that this Preposterous Case Ceases being a Pain you so that you may Peacefully Continue Playing your Chosen Platform of Continously Pleasure.

My PC is not overheated and crashed every 30 minutes. Same with my friend PC's. That's because Valve add f***ing hats and not fixing bugs...

It's overheating, my laptop does that whenever I play Terraria or Cave Story for too long (pretty sad . -.)

This is unlikely TF2 related. What happens when you press the power button? Anything? Can you get to a BIOS screen? Do you hear fans running when you turn it on even if not much else happens? etc.

It sounds like you may need to call computer 911.

Had the same problem a couple years ago, just means your comp is overheating. Just clear out the dust inside and it should work fine.
