Crashes all the time

Is it just me or does this game crash for everybody else all the time too? I completed the "meat" of the tutorial, but I can't make it back to Kiel because the game crashes at the map every time I get about halfway there.

If the OP is referring to SH5 I am having the same problem. The game crashes whenever there is an autosave or if I do a manual save. I have done some research around the net and it seems to be something to do with Ubisoft protection (maybe) and the 'saving to server'. I have tried all the usual... Validating the files, removing and reinstalling, even turning off my Avira protection, but to no avail. Nothing of which I have researched gives a work around for the Steam version, so if anyone has one it would be greatly appreciated.

Well since you're not getting any help here on steam forums, have you considered contacting Ubisoft?
I think they still have the support online for SH5.
