Angry backup the game doesn't work

after installing the game on one pc and then staring it, forces the client to apply a 418 MByte patch.
why can't you just apply this into the installing source ?

if you backup the game, after you've started it and restore it to save bandwith, time and money, steam starts to redownload the whole 10GB

this just sucks

Since the game ins't a SteamWorks title the third party patcher done the patch. But the game doesn't 10GB, at least for me. Steam says, downloader says, disk space usage says, but to it's around 3GB.

The problem is that the game doesn't patch through steam so when you use the backup and steam checks the game version it sees that it is a different version and tries to update it.

On top of that there's been a LOT of fixes going up almost daily the past few weeks.
