[FEEDBACK] - Steam Workshop
First off, thank you valve for giving us such a stable and easy to use platform for us to upload/download mods, makes the whole thing alot smoother frankly.
The only thing I would like is an option for players to file 'bug reports', currently I am having to sift through to comments to find bugs and I'd like to have any suggestions/bugs put to me in a seperate area where I can deal with them. Thanks again |

In the spirit of keeping all feedback in one thread...
1) Make the Workshop easier to access. We have tabs/menu options for all other things, why not workshop? 2).... 3) Profit! |

And this is a good piece of feedback. We definitely want to build the best tools to help you as a mod author. We'll put this on our list. |

Not really feedback but more of a suggestion: As a mod author, I'd like to see who has favorited/subscribed to my mods. You can do this on the Nexus, but a similar feature seems to be absent in the Workshop.

I think it's the worst idea ever. It's akin to Activision's Modern Warfare "Elite."
I'd rather the Nexus. |

I agree, a workshop tab would be a great addition. How about a 1 click download, so we don't have to go back and forth between pages? Just download the mods right off of the displayed page. Last edited by GameConnoisseur: 02-11-2012 at 06:27 PM. |

I think he referred the COD elite because he can't download the mods anymore because he can't "access" them

Could there be an added feature that lists the last date a mod was updated on the mod page so that mods labeled as [WIP] can be more easily monitered?

I was wondering if a mod's workshop page could have multiple subscription links for different versions of the same mod.
As it is right now, if someone makes a mod with different versions (like a high performance version versus a better looking version) then they have to either make two separate pages for the mod or just link to the other version that's being hosted somewhere else. I think it would be more convenient to have all versions of the mod on the same workshop page and then we could click "subscribe" for the version that we wanted. |

I want a bigger area to post docs in, the existing spot is tiny and hardly big enough to say anything other than "this is an armour mod" which is fine for armour mods but I make large quest mods and saying "this is a quest mod" hardly cuts it.

I'd like it if the workshop could raise the file size cap on individual mods so that people could upload large mods like (unofficial) texture packs and such.
I'm sure having people download very large files could be a concern so I think it would be reasonable to have a warning window pop up notifying that this is a large file and confirming you want to download it etc. |

File cap is currently 100MB per mod, so it would be nice to see this go at least to 500MB if that's practical.
Since this looks like a good spot to post some feedback.... Any chance we might see a community team for the Workshop that can respond to reported files and mark them hidden if they're found to be in violation of either the Valve ToS, or the ToS for the particular game? This would require probably 2-3 people with the time to devote to the task in each game the Workshop currently supports so that, for example, those handling a report for Skyrim are familiar with Skyrim's CK EULA and with Bethesda's statement that they will aid in the removal of unauthorized uploads. Currently it seems to take a very long time for action to be taken on a report sent via the current reporting function. There have been known instances of unauthorized content being left up for WEEKS without any acknowledgement that anyone is even looking into it. There was even a span of time where GStaff (the Bethesda community coordinator) had lost his access to remove unauthorized content, and at present he's the only contact any of us can go to in order to get something done. He's a busy guy and could use some help here ![]() Final disposition of any reported material should of course have oversight from actual Valve people, unless you're comfortable with granting the ability to delete to the selected community members. |
