Sorry no can do. If I did that, almost anyone could join. You're welcome to the 3 week grace period to make up for it...but the first rule will not be removed.

Then raise the hour requirement to forty or something. Your hours as another class have no effect on your competency as a Medic. Rule number 1 is a flawed way of filtering out bad people.

I'll agree the rule is a bit biased.

I say change it to 30 hours played or in the top 3 classes. While keeping the minimum 8 hours requirement that's already in place. So people who know how to play and who enjoy playing Medic can join without allowing the riff-raff in.

I'm sorry if it's not fair to others who main Soldier or Demoman but consider themselves as "good" medics as well, but I will not change it.
Plenty of people could easily have Medic logged for 30-40 hours and have them at the bottom of the list and leave him there never to be played again just so they could be part of the group! The group would no longer be designated for Medics in that regard! A Soldier main could join with ease and it could lead to the want to support the soldier class over the Medic!
I made this group for the sole reason that when you join a server everyone is begging for a Medic player, but nobody is willing to give up their preferred class in order to switch for support! They are greedy and expect someone else to do it. Well that's who we are, the non greedy people who will take up the role of Team Medic. We are a group designated to jump into a game and make ourselves known as main medic players or people who are willing to switch in order to help!
If you think this is unfair and I am biased...then fine! I admit it! I am a biased admin!
Feel free to create you're own group that supports you're ideals or join another Medic group out there! I'm sure there are plenty that exist but this one is for Medic players and the rules shall not change!

But by your logic, an eight hour Medic is competent. Therefore a forty-hour Medic would be five-times better.

Whether they play Soldier or Demoman or Pac-man or Sniper is completely irrelevant.

People join the group because they want to play Medic.

I tried to be Soldier to better my team, but I just suck at it.... Instead, playing Medic is a lot easier, but knowing YOU are THE key to team victory brings a certain satisfaction... The MVP scoreboard doesn't hurt either.

Let's see now, 80 hours as Medic, which is 2nd most played class (and will overtake Pyro, sooner or later), Overdose and Ubersaw as loadout mainstay, 37/39 achv, and Bill's Hat + Deus Spec. Okay that last one didn't count, but it's not necessary either!
